Accepting
a position at NCBIS is not just another job - it is an opportunity to join
a highly motivated group of professional teachers committed not only to
providing an exceptional education for our students, but also to contributing
to the overall development of the school.
All of our teachers have outstanding professional credentials and UK or
other internationally recognised teaching qualifications. They bring a wealth
of experience from UK government and independent schools, the Dutch schools
programme and other education systems around the world, and in doing so make
an invaluable contribution to the school.
With an annual staff turnover of less than 10% per year the competition
for places at NCBIS is keen. Vacancies are usually advertised locally and
in the UK press in January each year with interviews taking place in the
UK during February.

What Do we
Expect?
|
 |
At
NCBIS the emphasis is upon high pupil achievement at all age levels. Consequently
we have high expectations of our students, and we set high standards for,
and demands upon, our staff in order that our students achieve their goals.
In addition to regular teaching duties all staff are expected to participate
in the wide range of extra-curricular activities that are organised for
the children. The school is also very active in the wider Cairo community,
and our staff have an enviable for participating in and supporting local
charity, community and sporting events. |
| What Can You Expect? |
|
|
NCBIS
offers a very competitive remuneration package. Teaching salaries are linked
to the UK Teacher Salary Scales and are paid net of all taxes (local and
UK). Salaries are paid monthly in sterling to a local bank account, and facilities
are provided in school for arranging deposits, withdrawals and transfers
with ease.
Teachers recruited from outside Egypt are provided with expatriate benefits
including international insurance annual return air fare, excess baggage allowance, paid holidays,
a generous cash housing allowance, free transport to and from school and
subsidised meals during the school day.
At NCBIS we recognise the need for all teachers to stay in touch with current
educational thinking and best practice. All staff participate in a challenging
programme of Professional Development where teachers with particular skills
and experience, as well as expert practitioners from outside the school,
share their knowledge with our staff.
But it's not all hard work!!!! Cairo in particular, and Egypt in general,
offers a huge range of opportunities for recreation and travel; whether
you are interested in archaeology, history, cultural studies, scuba diving,
exploring the deserts and mountains or just sunbathing we have it all
and it all just a few hours away from where you live. |
