Preparation for an international schooling
career
Lessons in Music, Art, PE and IT take place
with their peers of the international
Primary School in English. The children in
Group 1 through 7 participate in all Primary
Extra Curricular Activities (ECA's) and have
the same breaks and lunchtimes.
From group 1 onwards English lessons are
taken by all students. Through the years the
number of lessons are increasing up to three
lessons per week in group 7 and 8. The level
of English at the end of group 8 is more
then sufficient to let the Dutch students
cope with their peers in year 8 of the
British Stream.
Swimming
During the first four years in the Dutch
Stream, we offer our students swimming
lessons in accordance with the Dutch
swimming curriculum. After this initial
period, the children are expected to be free
of water fear and can float, dive and swim.
From Group 5 onwards, they join swimming
lessons with the classes of the
international stream.
Library
The Dutch library is incorporated in the
main school library, with approximately 1350
Dutch reading books available for the
students as well as access to all
international books. Every week a Dutch
library-mother accompanies the children to
the library to read, help them choose their
books and read a story to the group. The
level of books provided ranges from the
Dutch level A to level C. The Dutch library
is completely computerized. Children can
search for books, and link up with child
friendly websites to support their work in
