should come to school looking smart.

Wearing School Uniform
- Students arriving at school
in the morning that are not in the appropriate uniform
will need to have a signed and dated note.
- Tutors should use their
discretion the first time a pupil fails to bring in a
signed, dated note. After that the student will be placed
in a break-time detention.
- If a pupil doesn’t have a
note, then the tutor will issue him/her with a uniform
slip.
- Any
student out of uniform without a note or uniform slip will
automatically be placed in detention.
- Class teachers need to check
that pupils are in the correct unform.
- If uniform becomes a
repeating problem, once detentions and a phone call home
by the tutor has been made it will then be referred on to
the Head of Pastoral.
If this persists the student will be internally
excluded until the matter is resolved.
Physical
Education Uniform
- For the sake of personal
hygiene all students are expected to change for PE.
Pupils should not arrive at school in their PE kit
or trainers or return home in them at the end of the day.
- If the appropriate uniform
is temporarily unavailable for a student then he/she
should be in clothes as near to the standard item as
possible, without big logos or variations in colour.
- At break time students may
wear trainers for playing sport but must change back
before leaving the sports field. If a student arrives late
to class or not in full uniform after breaks then he/she
will be placed in detention.
Sixth
Form Dress Code
- Sixth Form students are
expected to follow these simple guidelines when choosing
appropriate clothing for school:
- Extreme modes of dress are
not acceptable and will not be tolerated. In the event
that a student’s clothing or style of dress causes
offence, or is considered by a member of staff to be in
any way inappropriate, this will be discussed with the
student in question and an acceptable resolution reached.
- Smart, casual clothes are
expected. All clothing must be ‘respectable’, i.e. not
frayed or holed and shirts, T-shirts and sweatshirts may
have logos, motifs, etc. on them but these must not be
offensive in any way.
- Female members of the Sixth
Form, as with female members of staff, should respect the
cultural standards and expectations of the local
community. Strappy
tops, see-through tops, crop/mid-driff tops and short
skirts must be avoided.
The rules on jewellery and hairstyles for
Sixth Formers are the same as for younger students.
