Detentions

In the Secondary School there is a detention system in place. For all detentions parents or guardians will be notified by a detention slip which must be signed and returned. All detentions are supervised and productive.  24 hours notice is given for after school detentions.

The procedures for detentions are:

Step 1     Warning

Step 2    20 minute detention with the subject teacher

Step 3    75 minute detention after school

Step 4    75 minute detention with a member of the senior management

Step 5    Parents are called in to see the Head of Pastoral/Academic

The level is determined by the teacher and where appropriate he/she can miss a step or repeat a step. If a student fails to bring the signed notification slip to the detention he/she stays for the detention anyway and is issued with another detention of the same level.
