| Assessing,
Recording & Reporting
|
In all subjects, at the start of
the year, every student will be given an outline of how
his/her work will be assessed throughout the year. This will
include grade boundaries and descriptors.
Each student will receive at least one formal assesment
per half-term.
- Every half-term a student
will receive either effort and assessment grades or a full
written report for all his/her subjects.
Grades and targets should be written in the planner
so students, parents and teachers can track the
student’s progress.
- Reports go home with a
letter to parents / guardian which must be signed and
returned to the school.
- Each student will receive a
full written report or transcript at the end of the
academic year including the results from the end of year
exams. The
honour role will be formed from these grades and awarded
at the final end of year assembly or presentation evening.
- If a teacher is concerned
about the progress of a student they will complete a
progress report to inform parents of their concerns.
- A student can be given
individual subject targets if they are causing concern in
an individual subject.
- Parents are encouraged to
make an appointment at any time if they are concerned
about the progress of their child.
