The ICT curriculum is designed to equip pupils with the skills and knowledge they need to make use of ICT in the wider curriculum and to allow them to become independent users of ICT in the world at large.
All pupils from Year 1 to Year 6 receive weekly ICT lessons in a purpose built computer room, offering each pupil their own computer to work on. Internet access is available on all computers.
The curriculum in these years is mainly based upon the National Curriculum study units. The software packages used in Years 1 to 6 are mainly purpose-built to support elements of the National Curriculum. We also begin to introduce the pupils to Microsoft Office and a lot of work focuses on the development of research skills using the internet, as well as publishing and presentation skills. Students are also introduced to developing databases.
